Atletico wants to continue their positive run of visits to Camp Nou

Atletico de Madrid travels to Barcelona with the intention of continuing their positive run of visits to the Catalan city. In the last few years Atletico has been a spine in the side of Barcelona, Fernando Torres in particular. ‘El Niño’ has scored in almost every visit to Camp Nou Stadium. In his last two matches there he’s scored four goals. Also, these matches have traditionally been high-scoring affairs filled with emotion. Planted firmly in the memory of Atletico fans are the four goals scored by Milinko Pantic in a match which Barcelona ended up winning 5-4. Another fantastic game that fans will remember was from the 1995/96 season. The team directed by Radomir Antic won by a clear and convincing score of 1-3 and the best part of that match was the beginning of the play of the first goal. Caminero tried going up one flank without success, so took it all the way to the other and left Nadal helpless on the ground. His pass was then sent into the back of the net by Biaggini. In the 79 matches that these two teams have been played over time in Catalunya, Barcelona has won on 40 occasions. 16 matches have ended in draws and Atletico has come away with the three points 13 times. Barcelona has scored 161 goals compared to 92 by the red and white team.
